Blue Sapphire is an energetic comedy that follows Aleks, a once-popular singer from the 1990s whose days of fame are long behind him. With only two hits in his entire career, Aleks has become drunk more often than sober, and his life has turned into a storm of bad decisions.

In an attempt to reclaim his former glory, Aleks teams up with his friend and manager Bojan, a man struggling with a messy divorce and mounting gambling debts. Desperate, they decide to borrow money from loan sharks to organize a comeback concert at the Arena after a 25-year hiatus. It is their last chance to return to the spotlight—or disappear into oblivion forever.

Before reaching the Arena, the two schedule a performance in a remote small town to promote new songs. However, the shockingly bad reaction from the audience leads to chaos, arguments, and a fight. Aleks and Bojan part ways after narrowly escaping a lynching, utterly disappointed in one another. In the accident that follows, a drunken Aleks falls into a river and ends up in a hippie commune, where he loses his memory.

While Aleks wanders without any recollection of his past, Bojan encounters Goranc Sapphire, a local baker and amateur singer who looks exactly like Aleks. Bojan comes up with the idea of hiring Sapphire to perform at a previously booked birthday gig, since the real Aleks is nowhere to be found. Sapphire sings Aleks’s songs, but when he performs one of his own, it becomes an ultimate viral hit, and the comeback concert suddenly begins to sell out at a rapid pace.

Meanwhile, Aleks regains his memory with the help of Ruža, a girl from the hippie commune, and the two of them set off for Belgrade to expose Bojan and Sapphire and reclaim Aleks’s identity. Along the way, Ruža questions Aleks’s life choices, while Aleks begins to develop feelings for her.

At the same time, Bojan struggles to save his marriage and his relationship with his daughter, receiving unexpected help from Sapphire. On their separate paths toward the concert, all of them face outrageous situations and encounter unforgettable characters. Each of the protagonists must make difficult choices to achieve their goals—choices that will change them forever.

Will Aleks manage to reclaim his identity and career? Will Bojan save his marriage and avoid the loan sharks’ revenge? And what will become of Sapphire?

Plavi Safir je uzbudljiva komedija koja prati Aleksa, nekada popularnog pevača iz devedesetih, čiji su dani slave odavno prošli. Sa samo dva hita u svojoj karijeri, Aleks je postao češće pijan nego trezan, a njegov život je postao prava oluja loših odluka. U želji da povrati svoj nekadašnji sjaj, Aleks se udružuje sa svojim prijateljem i menadžerom Bojanom, čovekom koji se bori sa problemima razvoda i kockarskim dugovima.

Bojan dolazi na ideju da angažuje Safira da peva na zakazanom rođendanskom nastupu, budući da pravog Aleksa nigde nema. Safir peva Aleksove pesme, ali kada izvede jednu svoju pesmu, ona postaje ultimativni viralni hit, a povratnički koncert počinje da se napokon ubrzano rasprodaje.
