An abusive father of eight daughters and no sons attends the mother's funeral. After the burial, he finally feels free, watching his unwanted daughters with belittling joy. One of them silently shows revulsion, drifting toward patricide, and with her sisters' help becomes the new head of the family, just as cruel a tyrant as he was.
