Uznesenje Kukac Petra is a poetic film drama inspired by the life of Hungarian painter Péter Nagyapáti the Elder (1908–1944). Born into poverty and marked by the nickname "Kukac" ("worm"), the artist's life becomes an allegory for the human soul's struggle for inner freedom. The film moves beyond biographical convention, exploring his self-destructive genius, spiritual unrest, and search for light, as a timeless reflection on humanity trembling before truth and transcendence.
